Week 9 features the Panthers live sream first game in Los Angeles

The panthers game participated in 7 on 7 passing camps at First Baptist, Fort Dorchester and Ashley Ridge in June and early July so their skills players competed against a variety of teams."I think our 7 on 7 activities all went well," Pinewood coach Michael Wright said. A variety of our guys had some good workouts.

Not all of the Panther skill players participated in every 7 on 7 camp, but Wright said he is content with what the team accomplished this summer. With a school our size it can be hard to get everyone together because some of our players are involved with other sports," he said. "Guys missed certain camps because they were doing something for basketball or baseball but I understand that."

Three Pinewood quarterbacks were able to get a lot of reps in this summer. Rising senior Jack DiMuzio, rising junior Sammy Casey and rising sophomore Ethan Hirsch are all returning varsity lettermen who alternated during passing camps. They worked on their accuracy and seeing the field," Wright said. "We want them to trust their eyes and to not overthink things when we want them to throw the ball and I think the camps help with that."

Pinewood has an interesting mixture of receivers, panthers game live some returning from last year's SCISA state runner-up team and others just joining the varsity squad.I'm happy with what saw from both the older guys and some of our young receivers," Wright said. "The summer activities give them a chance to get better at catching the ball and running patterns."

Of course, 7 on 7 camps aren't just for the offense. They help experienced secondary players knock off the dust that settled during the off season and serve as a place for young athletes wanting to earn playing time in the secondary to show coaches what they are made of. Our secondary is coming together," Wright said. "Defensive coordinator Michael Power continues to work with those players on their fundamentals and on getting them to the right place at the right time."

A camp at Ashley Ridge last Thursday was the final of the summer for the Panthers, but there is still a lot of work left for the entire team. We seem to be on the right track," Wright said. "We have some talent back and some promising new guys. However, the things we have been focusing on are just a part of it. When we start hitting, using both running plays and passing plays and the defenses start moving around, that's a totally different thing.
